The paperwork after every meeting
Welsh community and town councils have legal deadlines after each meeting. The clerk usually keeps track of them alone, on top of writing the minutes.

Notice out 3 clear days before, then keep your notes as you always do.
Type them, or snap a photo of your handwritten notes. Your notes take priority over the recording, so names, proposers and decisions come out the way you wrote them. Cofnodwr also reminds you when the notice is due.

Set up from your own minutes
Send 3 to 10 sets of past minutes. Cofnodwr learns your headings, numbering, wording and length, and keeps learning from your edits. That’s why your first two meetings are free.

Welsh and English
Community councils aren’t bound by the Welsh Language Standards, but Welsh Government guidance expects them to treat Welsh no less favourably than English. In the pilot we’re testing a Welsh version of your approved English minutes, for you or your translator to check. (Statutory guidance 2022, para 2.14)

How we handle recordings
Cofnodwr is being designed so the council stays in control of its records, recordings are stored in the UK or EU, and audio is deleted once the minutes are signed. Pilot councils get the full details in writing first.

Try it on a past meeting
Send us one past recording and we’ll send back the minutes and the 7-day note in your format, free. Or start the free trial: your first two meetings are free, because every clerk writes minutes their own way and Cofnodwr learns from your past minutes and your edits.
